I’m Russell — photographer, family man, coffee‑lover, and the guy behind the lens at Russell Bell Photography. I’m based in Melbourne’s west, but my love for photography began in the mountains.

Before photography, I was a chef at Mount Hotham. I fell in love with the landscape, got engaged on Mount Buffalo, married in Wandiligong, and kept finding myself drawn back there. Somewhere between the snow, the peaks, and the quiet moments, I picked up a camera — and everything changed.

What started as a passion for landscapes grew into documenting life’s real moments: families, couples, adventures, and the four‑legged friends who come along for the ride.

My Approach

I keep things simple, natural, and honest.
No stiff posing. No pressure. No forced smiles.

Just real connection, real emotion, and real moments captured as they unfold.

I’m all about:

  • Photography that feels like you

  • Natural light

  • Clean, crisp editing

  • Calm, friendly energy

  • Letting people be themselves

A Bit More About Me

I’m a dedicated husband and dad, and preserving fleeting moments is something I value deeply — both in my own life and for the people I photograph. When I’m not shooting, you’ll find me with my family, exploring the west, or enjoying a good coffee.

Where I Work

I photograph weddings, lifestyle sessions, and events across:

  • Melbourne’s West

  • Geelong

  • Ballarat

  • The Bellarine Peninsula

  • And anywhere else your story takes you
